General John Stark was one of the leaders in the Revolutionary War and was the originator of the state motto, Live Free or Die.

And you definitely don’t want to miss the foliage. You will see brilliant reds, yellows and oranges. For a great road trip to view the foliage, you want to take a drive along the Kancamagus Highway.
